IS TRANSITION RIGHT FOR YOU?

If, when, and how you transition is a choice. Being trans is not.

Discover your gender identity

The question “Am I trans?” can feel overwhelming, especially with the abundance of guidance based on traditional markers like “trans childhood experiences” or specific forms of dysphoria. For me, those approaches didn’t offer the clarity I was seeking. Realizing that you may want to transition is a deeply personal journey, often with more layers than any checklist or single experience can capture.

While reading through transition stories by trans men and trans masc individuals might already give you some insight, the resources on this page are here to provide alternative perspectives and guidance for more clarity regarding your gender identity. Featuring two books, a video, and a blog post, these materials go beyond conventional narratives and offer insights into identity exploration, self-acceptance, and understanding what transition means to you personally. Whether or not you identify with the typical narratives, I hope these resources help you find your own path forward.

I think of transition not too different from any other major life choice. (...) I went to the college I did because I researched a bunch of options and I thought that ultimately that college I chose would make me the most happy; a transition doesn’t need to be any different.
— Arthur Rockwell
It’s okay to be someone who thinks is trans but isn’t ready to start yet. (...) Being ready is this intense, intimate, personal journey, and it’s okay if it’s gonna take some time.
